    News / Russia's foreign trade surplus was $86.2 bln in H106.

    Russia's foreign trade surplus jumped to $86.2 bln in January-June, 2006 against $66.3 bln in the year-earlier period, foreign trade stood at $199.7 bln (up 31.8% y-o-y) of which $171 bln accounted for trade with non-CIS countries (growth 33.5% y-o-y) and $28.7 bln came from transactions with CIS member states (up 22.5% y-o-y); exports totaled $143 bln, up 31.3% y-o-y, including exports of $123.8 bln to non-CIS countries (up 31.2% compared to the year-earlier period) and exports of $19.2 bln (up 32% y-o-y) to CIS-countries; imports climbed 33.2% y-o-y to $56.7 bln, including imports of $47.2 bln (up 40.1% y-o-y) from non-CIS countries and imports from CIS-countries totaling $9.5 bln (up 7% y-o-y), the Federal Customs Service reported in a press release.

    Russia’s key partners were the following non-CIS countries: Germany (trade turnover - $19.9 bln, up 30.6% y-o-y), the Netherlands ($17.8 bln, up 46.2% y-o-y), Italy ($14.9 bln, up 41.2% y-o-y), China ($11.8 bln, up 40.7% y-o-y), Turkey ($7.6 bln, up 36.8% y-o-y), Poland ($7 bln, 40.3% y-o-y), USA ($6.8 bln, up 31,3% y-o-y), Finland ($6.2 bln, up 21.6% y-o-y), UK ($6 bln, up 20% y-o-y), France ($5.9 bln, up 38.9% y-o-y).
